... or just PRIMER!
Yeah, it's about time. Looks boat like, all of a sudden. This is one coat of Interlux Prime-Kote, which is a two part epoxy primer that will kill ya without a respirator. There's probably dead spiders in every corner of my shop now. A one quart kit would probably be just enough to coat the deck and cockpit if you thinned it correctly. I didn't add quite enough thinner and had to mix up a little extra to finish.
No big whoopses jumping out at me yet, so things should be within a spot spackle, light sand and second coat.
Spreader hinges complete. I'll clear coat them on the mast, once they're glued into place.
And here's the last rig element underway, cannibalizing a piece of the spreader hinge tooling. It's a little tang to go on the bottom of the mast to receive the gnav stay turnbuckle- my plan is to use one turnbuckle for both stays, using a sheave in the upper jaw of the turnbuckle. The stays will act to hold the mast back, but won't restrain it sideways, or from rotating, is the idea.
This part is cooking under a heat lamp, so I can pull it off the mast this afternoon. Then if I feel really ambitious I'll glue the mast together.
I have about half of my "measurement day" rigging spliced up, most of the hardware bits and pieces are here, but haven't heard from the Dux dude since sending him a bunch of ferrules for the shroud ends. Need to call and bug him again...
looks beautiful. Congratulations !
