So I hit the rail with a router and the whole boat with a DA just to rub off the weathered wood and clean it up a little, then rolled on a sealer coat of epoxy to protect it on the road. Then I pulled it out into the yard to see how it looks, and it's almost good enough to leave unpainted! Very cool to see that adding the curves to the frames really does make a fair hull. If I had been a little more careful with the scarf joints, and colored the hole-filing putty a little better, I just might consider it.
1800 miles to the new house, and expect to see pics of the boat in its new, real shop when we get there.
