So no actual progress on the boat, except (slowly) getting the shop organized.
I still need to clean the boat, and then take it off the trailer so I can better finish those bunks, as well as work on the deck at a more reasonable height.
Meanwhile, in other news I've milled new hickory (Missouri grown!) moulding for the house, knocked down a few walls, painted most of the house interior, put in wood floors, had carpet put in, sawn down a couple dead trees, mowed the lawn (it takes a couple hours), did some local (well, three hours away!) dingy racing, and drawn a couple houses -yep, still plugging away at the ol' day job.
My house projects are getting close to being close to done, and then I can sneak in the odd day or hour on the boat.
Ah, the joys of a new place with the many projects that come with it. Like the look of that shop. So if I'm in Des Moines and I need to get to Chicago, how far out of the way is your place?
ReplyDeleteCheers, K.
Well I'm just under 3 hours S of Des Moines, and then the trip to Chi is about an hour longer -6.5 hours, versus 5.5 from Des Moines (all per Google maps, actual driving times usually less in my experience, but maybe that's just the way I drive).
ReplyDeleteHappy to see you are back on track Chad ! Cant wait to see you coming up with another fancy carbon part !
ReplyDeleteThanks Jerome. You can see the white foam male mold for the compression post in one of the pics, and that'll be one of the 1st projects...
